City suspended in a giant ring.
Dubai is known for its extravagant architecture that causes envy around the world. Just when you thought their buildings couldn't get any more futuristic, along comes ZNera space, an architecture studio with very ambitious plans for the city.
What could these be? They have developed a design for a high-rise building surrounding the Burj Khalifa, an online magazine designboom reported on Tuesday.
An urban and natural landmark for the UAE
The structure would be meters high and would cover a circumference of , meters. It is exactly called Downtown Circle and can simultaneously serve as an urban and natural landmark for the United Arab Emirates.
The suspended city encompasses all the characteristics that make up the most popular urban metropolises. It features residential, public and commercial spaces, and even a green Skygarden to add some much-needed oxygen to the car-filled city.
The suspended city would be supported by five vertical beams that, we imagine, would have to be stronger to support such a busy and diverse mini-metropolis. The structure also aims to be sust Brazil Mobile Number List ainable, presenting a more human typology that seeks to emulate nature and introduce various green public spaces.
The architecture consists of two rings linked by a continuous green suspended belt called Skypark. This Skypark will offer residents and visitors fresh air, abundant natural light and panoramic views of the city.
The Downtown Circle will also have five levels, each divided into smaller units that are separated into residential, public, commercial and cultural programs. It will also be adorned with lush greenery and feature open spaces that accommodate the best user experience.
Among its many landmarks of the suspended city, you will find offices, research centers, cultural spaces and a D green ecosystem that will function as the 'lung' of the ring that carries much-needed oxygen to a rather polluted city.
Shrines and more
This green area will be further beautified with features such as canyons, sand dunes, swamps, waterfalls, digital caves and tropical vegetation. It will also provide sanctuaries for wild plants, an area for growing and producing food, specialized rainwater harvesting machines and solar power stations.
Finally, advanced systems will store CO and filter pollutants from the air.
If you fear that the circle is too big to navigate, you can rest assured that the architects have even thought about that. A futuristic rail transport system made of suspended capsules will transport passengers to and from their locations at a speed of kilometers per hour.
While using the advanced trains , passengers will also have access to -degree views of the entire city, making it a more enjoyable trip for local residents and tourists alike.
There has been no word on when this structure might be built or if, in fact, it ever will be. But for now, the illustrations make us dream of a future we would love to explore.
